Sustainability at Logues

We care deeply about the environment and the impact we have in-store & online.

  • With every order placed we use An Post to deliver your parcel where they operating Ireland’s largest EV fleet: 1,012 electric vehicles and 110 electric trikes and their aim is to be net-zero emissions to 2030. An Post’s ambition is to be the greenest postal service in Europe.

  • We use recyclable packaging to deliver your shoes and have replaced all of our plastic packaging in store to paper bags, since 2000. They are manufactured in Co Kerry, Ireland.

  • Since 2004 we set ourselves a goal to recycle as much as possible of our shop waste and to divert this from landfill. We have worked closely with our suppliers in order to reduce plastic in their packing and to ensure all their packaging is recyclable. We are proud to achieve a 98% recycling rate and we do this through Barna Recycling, Galway.

  • In 2016 we replaced all our shop lighting to low energy led lights, which has helped to reduced our energy consumption.

  • We have teamed up with One Tree Planted on our site to allow our customers if they wish to plant a tree and to off set their carbon footprint.

  • We have installed 11kw solar panels on our Eyre Square, store in order to reduce our carbon footprint further.

  • We will also be putting in place a water harvesting system in order to help reduce our water usage in store.

  • To Celebrate our 100 years in business we plan to plant 100 trees in West Clare by Hometree.ie in Remembrance our company founders Frank and Deila, our parents, staff and valued customers who have pre-deceased us.

We are continuously thinking about how we can make a difference in the day to day running of Logues shoes and if you wish to help us please, let us know on info@logues.ie.
